The warpplaza project
A corner of the internet for Nintendo players, in the spirit of Miiverse.
🎮 What is warpplaza?
warpplaza is a community network made for Nintendo players. Every game has its community: you post about what you're living in your games, share a hand-drawn picture, react to other people's posts with Plazu, and find people to play with.
No algorithm deciding for you, no race for followers. Just a place to share your love of games, simply, with others who like the same things you do.
💭 Why recreate Miiverse?
Between 2012 and 2017, Miiverse was the social network for Nintendo players, built into the Wii U and the 3DS. People posted messages tied to the game of the moment, drew with the stylus, cheered each other on. It was kind, creative, one of a kind.
Then in November 2017, Nintendo shut it down. The Switch launched without it. Millions of players lost their place, that little corner where we shared our drawings and our gaming moments. Nothing has really replaced it since.
warpplaza was born from that gap: to give Nintendo players back the place they miss.
🐦 Why not Twitter, Discord…?
Twitter / X
General-purpose and fast, often toxic. Your post about Mario Kart gets buried between ads and politics, and the algorithm decides who sees it. It's not made for calmly sharing what you're playing.
Discord
Great for chatting in groups, but it's closed and built for conversation, not for showing things off. You have to be invited server by server, your drawings and posts get lost in the flow of messages, and nothing publicly brings players together around a single game.
warpplaza 🔴
A public feed that lasts, organized by game, where your posts and drawings stick around. You find the people playing the same things as you. It's gentle, it's slow, and it owns it.
💖 The spirit
warpplaza is a space that's kind above all. Communities by game, hand-drawn art, Switch friend codes to play together, and moderation designed to protect (especially younger users). No glorifying the numbers, no toxicity, just players sharing what they love.
A fan project, not affiliated with Nintendo. Game names are cited nominatively.
